The locals have seen it but the foreigners are still unaware of the fact that the beautiful tea gardens are in North, many indigenous communities live in this region and also beautiful, dazzling Kanchenjunga, the 3rd highest mountain in the world lies in this beautiful part of the nation. Trekking to the hidden and isolated Kanchenjunga base camp is also getting popular day by day on the other hand.

East Nepal tour starts with the visit to Janakpur, the holiest ancient city for Hindus, which lies just next to the India Nepal border. It is the religious and cultural tourism hub. According to the myth, Janakpur was the capital state of Mithila where the king Janak had a daughter, (mother) Sita who later got married to the God Ram, who is believed to be the reincarnation of Vishnu. The Janaki temple in Janakpur is therefore the main attraction for the devotees of Ram and Sita. During the festival of Bibah (marriage) Panchami, which falls in December month, the town is vibrant and full of enthusiasm because of the commemoration of the holy marriage of Ram and Sita. Then the journey continues to Ilam, where exist the most famous tea gardens in Nepal. Ilam is famous for natural scenery and landscapes, tea production, and diverse agricultural economy. One is sure to be swept away by the beautiful tea gardens. In the process of exploring Eastern Nepal, we will come across many other places, towns and villages. We will go further north to Phidim and Taplejung to experience the cooler and panoramic region of the Eastern Nepal. From Taplejung, the journey diverts to the South Eastern Nepal and leads us to Terhathum, Dhankuta Hille, Dharan and ultimately to Biratnagar for taking a flight back to Kathmandu. Dhankuta Hille is the hill station which marks the ending of the hillsides and Terai belt or the Southern flatland begins from Dharan, another beautiful town in whole Nepal. As we leave the hilly parts, we can see the good view of the Eastern Himalayan ranges. Our beautiful East Nepal journey thereafter takes us to the Morang district at Biratnagar. The ethnic groups of Terai region, one of many indigenous communities in cultural Nepal, Tharu tribes inhabit in this area. Tharus are unique people having their own ways of life, religion and culture.

The tour to the Eastern part of Nepal can be done anytime of the year with the exception of July and August. As one can see the vast varieties and differences in the cultural backgrounds and the natural landscapes in this part of the country than in the Central Nepal, the visitors can have the memorable journey for a lifetime. Nature Lovers invite all the groups and families to enjoy this typical Nepal tour with our expert guidance.
