Short Langtang Gosaikunda Trek is a fabulous trekking journey of Nepal. It is designed with a combination of the rural and sacred lake, Gosaikunda. This trekking trail region is highly populated by Sherpa and Tamang people. It lies inside Langtang National Park. Gosaikunda is one of the holy mountain lakes of Nepal which is believed to be created by lord Shiva himself. Gosaikunda Lake is the most important destination of this trek. This lake is holy and spiritual to both Hindus and Buddhists. Many people from different places travel to this lake during the full moon in August. Just 140km north from Kathmandu, Langtang Gosaikunda trek is one the most beautiful trek in the Langtang region which combines rural and spectacular village of Langtang valley with high mountains and glaciers. Langtang valley is full of wonders with the most fascinating local history. Langtang region is very rich in cultures and traditions, glaciers and mountains.

Day 01: Drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche (1,800 m) 7/8 hours drive, BL, Teahouse lodge.

Namaste. Early in the morning after breakfast we will drive towards Dhunche. We drive through foothills of Langtang region enjoying the spectacular views of the lush green valleys, the Himalayas and the Himalayan landscapes including the various cultural settlements along the way. Enjoy the magnificent sunset view from Dhunche.

Day 02: Trek from Dhunche to Sing Gompa (3,330 m) 5/6 hours trek, BLD, Teahouse lodge.

Our trail today first descend downhill, cross the river and gradually go up to Deurali. After some rest, we climb through forest arriving at Chandan Bari also known as Sing Gompa. Explore the cheese factory and enjoy the spectacular views of the mountains.

Day 03: Trek from Sing Gompa to Gosaikunda Lake (4,380 m) 5/6 hours trek, BLD, Teahouse lodge.

It’s going to be the toughest day in our adventure since we pass through Laurabina and some serious steeps. But the tough trek is highly rewarding too offering you the views of Langtang Lirung, Hiunchuli, Manaslu region, Ganesh Himal, Tibetan peaks and more. Arrive in stunning Gosaikunda Lake to stop for the night. Enjoy your time in the holy lake. There are two other lakes to explore in the surrounding called as Bhairav Kunda lake and Saraswati Kunda. They can be visited either today or in the next day.

Day 04: Trek from Gosaikunda Lake to Dhunche (1,800 m) 7/8 hours trek, BL, Teahouse lodge.

Today we will start gently towards our trek starting point at Dhunche. Go via Lauribina and through the forest of rhododendron, bamboo and pine to arrive at Sing Gompa first then continue towards Dhunche. Explore the Tamang communities on the way.

Day 05: Drive from Dhunche to Kathmandu (1,400 m) 7/8 hours drive, BL.

After the completion of wonderful Langtang Gosaikunda trekking journey, it’s time to drive back to Kathmandu retracing the earlier route.
