Jungle safari in Chitwan National Park, Asia’s most popular National Park is one of the most wonderful experiences that can be gained in Nepal. Chitwan National Park is famous for the elusive "Royal Bengal Tiger". The park habitats more than 200 One Horned Indian Rhinoceros, Deers, Bears, Monkeys, Leopards and many different species of mammals and reptiles, and it is also a home for a thousand species of birds. One of the oldest and most popular National Parks in Nepal is situated within the inner subtropical Terai lowlands of Southern-Central Nepal. The park was designated as a World Heritage Site in 1984.

Chitwan National Park covers a pristine area with a unique eco-system of significant value to the world. It contains the Churia hills, ox-bow lakes and flood plains of the rivers Rapti, Reu and Narayani. There are more than 43 species of mammals in the park. The park is home to the fresh water Gharial crocodile along with many other common species such as gaur (Asian bison), wild elephants, four horned antelopes, striped hyenas, pangolins, Gangetic dolphins, monitor lizards and pythons. Other animals found in the park include sambars, chital (spotted deer) barking deer, sloth bear, palm civets, langur and rhesus monkeys. The park is also famous for over 450 species of exotic birds. Among the endangered birds are the Bengal florican, the Giant Hornbill, the Lesser Florican, the Black Stork and White Stork. Common birds seen in the park including Peafowl, Red Jungle fowl, and different species of Egrets, Herons, Kingfishers, Flycatchers and Woodpeckers. The best time for bird watching is around March and December. More than 45 species of amphibians and reptiles have been recorded in the park.

Chitwan National Park is also an educational field for botanists and zoologists alike since it is used for the scientific studies and research concerning several species of wild flora and fauna. The park can be reached from Kathmandu via 190 km drive (5hrs) and by Air about a 20mins flight to Megauli or to Bharatpur including a short drive to Chitwan. It may also be reached by the ultimate, rafting on the Trisuli River.

Day 01: Drive (or fly) to Chitwan 5hrs, BLD, Hotel

Soon after your early breakfast, we will drive to Chitwan and get transferred to hotel upon arriving. Rest up, take your lunch and get ready to explore the rural Tharu villages. Go to National Park info center and head for amazing sunset view by the Rapti river bank. Back to hotel. Tharu cultural program in the night. 

Day 02: Various activities in Chitwan, BLD, Hotel

Wake up call for tea/coffee and breakfast. This is the main day and you will be immersed in a lot of fun activities. Elephant ride and jungle walk, Canoeing in Rapti River and watching gharials, Elephant bath show and breeding center visit and more. After an enjoyable day, back to hotel.

Day 03: Bird watching and drive to Kathmandu, BLD.

In the early morning, we will go for bird watching and observe the varieties of birds. If lucky, this will be a day you'll never forget. Drive back to Kathmandu and farewell dinner in the night.
